News and Opinions
Super Networking Event a Great Success
On April 23rd the MBA held its first ever "Super Networking Event" at Windows on the Lake and
by all early responses it was a great event. We have received various e-mails all very complementary
to both the venue and the format. On an even more positive note, we received applications for three
new memberships. A big "thank you" to the event committee comprised of Denise Schwarz, Lynn Deeg and
David Tolkin and a thank you to all of you, our members who supported the event.
The MacArthur Business Alliance offered it's opinion on the County's acquisition and
future use of the Bavarian Inn property in Ronkonkoma.

letter to the County
Executive and local Legislators on this important issue.

A Message From Our President
Welcome to the MacArthur Business Alliance’s (MBA) website. We hope you will enjoy your visit!
The MBA is the region’s largest industrial trade association representing the businesses
surrounding MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY. Our association hosts both
an annual Trade Expo and a charity-focused Golf Outing. The MBA meets monthly with featured
speakers that address general business practices as well as elected officials from the
county, state and federal level.
The MBA provides an excellent forum for networking will fellow business owners and getting
up to the minute information about “real” economic and legislative issues that can impact
your business on a daily basis. We also provide a link with government to assist you in
any regulatory activities you may be involved with. We hope we see you at our next monthly meeting.
With deepest regards,
Walter A. Poggi
President
MBA to Survey Members
The MBA is being asked more frequently to "weigh in" on many local and State issues.
A great example is the latest discussions regarding the governor’s plan to cap
school taxes. In order to best represent the views of our membership the MBA is
planning on performing a member survey over the next few weeks to better take the
"pulse of the MBA". We plan on reporting on the results of the survey at our
September Monthly meeting.
