We will act as a voice of strength, pursuing and supporting those goals which will enhance the overall business environment and promote a positive outlook for our area and our members. The challenges and issues that we will address include education, transportation, human resources, government actions, the legislative process, and environmental concerns. The Alliance will rely on its membership to provide direction and leadership, so that our goals and objectives are directly applicable to member businesses and the surrounding business community. The MacArthur Business Alliance (MBA) was founded on August 22, 1994 at an organization meeting which was held at the Airport Holiday Inn. It was the vision and the dream of Mr. Hug Dressauer of the Integre Financial Group (now Comprehensive Planning Services) who saw a clear and defined need for a local business association representing the needs of the many businesses surrounding MacArthur Airport. In Hugh’s initial solicitation of interest letter, he stated “…It is important that we organize, in some effective way, to accomplish our common goals, solve common problems, and help one another to increase and improve business conditions through networking and other community projects.” MBA has done just that. For the past 14 years, the MBA has provided ongoing business programming which has addressed issues from tax law to financial planning and from “proper business dress” to labor law issues. MBA has also provided a forum for interaction with both our Town and County government, providing many presentations on such topics as town planning and transportation issues. Finally, MBA has remained active in interfacing with our local schools and charitable associations by participating in local school job fairs and charitable events.
