Our Mission The MacArthur Business Alliance represents the interests of business, commerce, industry, not-for-profits and professionals in Suffolk County. The Alliance seeks to promote economic development, workforce development, business partnerships, community interests, government and public policy advocacy, environmental concerns, and education and training. Since its inception in 1994, the MacArthur Business Alliance has represented the interests of the business community in the vicinity of MacArthur Airport and has since sought to expand its reach to all of Suffolk County. The Alliance, through the leadership of its Directors, is member-focused and exemplifies the principles of excellence, integrity, innovation, teamwork and leadership

History of Macarthur Business Alliance

The MacArthur Business Alliance (MBA) was founded on August 22, 1994 at an organization meeting which was held at the Airport Holiday Inn. It was the vision and the dream of Mr. Hug Dressauer of the Integre Financial Group (now Comprehensive Planning Services) who saw a clear and defined need for a local business association representing the needs of the many businesses surrounding MacArthur Airport. In Hugh’s initial solicitation of interest letter, he stated “…It is important that we organize, in some effective way, to accomplish our common goals, solve common problems, and help one another to increase and improve business conditions through networking and other community projects.” MBA has done just that. For the past 14 years, the MBA has provided ongoing business programming which has addressed issues from tax law to financial planning and from “proper business dress” to labor law issues. MBA has also provided a forum for interaction with both our Town and County government, providing many presentations on such topics as town planning and transportation issues. Finally, MBA has remained active in interfacing with our local schools and charitable associations by participating in local school job fairs and charitable events.
